About WLSD
The Western Line School District (WLSD), established in 1957, proudly serves the communities of Avon, Metcalfe, Glen Allan, Winterville, Wayside, and portions of Greenville and Grace. For nearly 70 years, the district has remained committed to providing high-quality education while evolving to meet the needs of its students and community. WLSD operates two elementary schools and two non-traditional 7–12 campuses designed to offer flexible, student-centered learning opportunities.
WLSD continues to lead through innovation and achievement. In 2022, the district launched a Middle College program, allowing students to earn college credit while completing high school. In 2024, both high schools were recognized as Schools of Innovation, highlighting the district’s commitment to creative programming and academic excellence. In 2026, WLSD was named one of only 13 Districts of Innovation in Mississippi, further demonstrating its leadership in implementing forward-thinking practices that expand opportunities for students.
Through career and technical education pathways, strong community partnerships, and real-world learning experiences, WLSD is preparing students for success in college, careers, and beyond, living up to its motto – “You can get anywhere you want to go from here!”
